TL;DR New website for a Brescia IT company: custom theme, migration with rankings intact, mobile PageSpeed from 78 to 93.

The problem

PCLab provides IT support, cybersecurity, cloud and networking to companies in the Brescia area, but the website described its services with a handful of broad pages that did not match how businesses actually search, that is with precise, local queries such as "server support Brescia" or "cloud backup". People coming from Google landed on a generic page, and those looking for a specific service often did not land at all.

The solution

I started from keyword research for the sector to design a structure of about thirty pages oriented to real searches, with two levels of services, pages per industry, pages for partner brands and a FAQ section that answers informational questions without cannibalising the transactional ones. The site runs on a custom-written WordPress theme, with dedicated content types, breadcrumbs, structured data and sitemaps that update themselves when a page is added.

What I did

I designed and built everything, from the theme to the migration. Moving to the new structure meant 65 URL renames and 99 redirects, checked one by one so that existing rankings were not lost, with internal links rewritten by script. After go-live I worked on performance, with optimised fonts, minified CSS and server-side caching, taking the mobile PageSpeed score from 78 to 93, and set up SEO monitoring with Search Console and conversion events in GA4.

Results

The site has been live since July 2026 with the full structure, every old address answers with a direct redirect and the service pages rank for the local queries they were designed for.
