TL;DR Expert review of an AR surgery system's interface, plus two pitch decks for investors and clinics.
The problem
Evasurgica sells software and a cart for minimally invasive and robotic surgery: the system overlays a 3D model of the patient onto the endoscopic image in augmented reality, so the surgeon identifies anatomical structures faster and with fewer complications. The product was technically solid and already tested, but its visual communication and pitch were not up to the technology, just as clinical trials were about to start and public hospitals and private clinics had to be convinced.
What I did
I gathered the existing materials and set up a walkthrough of the software with the team, to understand how it is really used in the operating room: the hardware is not touch, you work with a medical-grade keyboard and a space mouse from the operating table, in a sterile environment, and that changes every usability rule. From there I ran an expert UX/UI review of the application, with a benchmark of similar software and a series of before-and-after screens that justify each change on usability fundamentals, not on aesthetics. On the pitch I split what was a hybrid between a deck to read and a presentation to speak into two separate versions, one for investors and one for clinics and hospitals, working on typographic hierarchy, readability and structure without changing the identity.
